If you know me then you know that I am a sucker for anything fraud related. Whether it be an organization committing the fraud or an individual, I will be interested in it. When I saw the trailer of “The Tinder Swindler” I knew I had to watch it. It was an added benefit that it was from the producers of “ Don’t F*** with Cats.”
Simon Leviev, a man from Israel, would meet women on Tinder and swindle them for money. The documentary tells the story of 3 women that fell for his lies: a diamond heir being chased by enemies so he couldn’t use his own finances to go about his business. These women would open credit cards and loans in their name to fund Simon’s lavish lifestyle. He was exposed in an article in a Norwegian newspaper catching the attention of one of his girlfriends. This girlfriend, Ayleen, is my favorite person in this story. She got her revenge on him and I found it so funny how she swindled him out of money!
For me, it was interesting to see how a man was able to scam normal women for allegedly $10 million. He had no regard for the livelihoods of these women. Like how can you ask your significant other to pawn their car or sell their house? He definitely did have a good run until he was caught on unrelated charges. I think he got lucky that he was released early and I do wonder if he is up to his old games since he is still flaunting a lavish lifestyle.
Back in January I mentioned that I was going to be trying new things. After much thinking and coming up with all the details I decided that I would invest in my creativity. For this reason, I decided to create a separate social media account where I could post things that my family and friends on my personal account wouldn’t understand.
I introduce SB Vibezzz as my creative outlet where I experiment with picture and video editing. SB Vibezzz will feature unboxings, unbaggings, beauty, and food. I posted a short Reels on a whim when Instagram tried to block my account for suspicious activity a day after opening the account. Since it did well, not really sure how, I decided to keep it.
What does it mean for Savir Blogs? Increased content! The things that I post on SB Vibezzz translate to a blog post with more details that most people don’t bother reading on Instagram. But it won’t just be content from SB Vibezz on here. I also have life updates, reviews, and anything else that I feel like posting.
Both Savir Blogs and SB Vibezzz are my way of bettering myself and hopefully there are people out there that can relate. Give me a follow so you won’t miss out. Let me know that you’re from here so I could follow you back!
I love nails! I have my nails done 98% of the time. That 2% represents when I’ve taken off acrylics, press ons, or nail polish. In the Reels above you see my 2021 nail journey. I stuck to regular nail polish and acrylic nails for the majority of the year. It wasn’t until October that I started wearing press ons. The acrylic nails are done by my nail lady while the regular polish and press ons are done by me.
I discovered ILNP nail polish late 2020 so the majority of my nail polish colors in the beginning of 2021 were that brand as I learned the best way to make the manicure last. When I switched to press ons in October I expanded my size range. I prefer small sized press ons because they’re less likely to pop off but I found some medium sized ones that gave me added length without the worry. I dipped into the large sized section and I learned that they’re not that practical because of my line of work. Although pretty, they are not as durable.
I would say that my nails were pretty good last year. I definitely branched out in designs and got plenty of compliments.
I’m not a football fan but I always tune into the Super Bowl. This year I definitely made sure I reserved the living room tv because I wasn’t missing the halftime show. As a relatively new English music listener back in the late 90s early 00s, these were the artists that I gravitated towards too. When I saw the commercial promoting the halftime show a couple of weeks ago I was excited because it is by far my favorite time in English music. Going into the halftime show I wondered how they were going to fit everything into 15 minutes.
After watching the show, I can say that I enjoyed it but it could’ve been better. I just felt like it was too short! I would’ve liked to see Eminem perform more than one song and “No More Drama” by MJB felt like it didn’t belong. Overall, I did appreciate the set design. I thought it was fitting to have the City of LA as the backdrop. Dr. Dre was the maestro because he produced for all the artists on the lineup. My favorite part of the performance was hands down “Still D.R.E.” From the choreography, dancers, and all of them coming together in the end, I can rewatch that part over and over again!
I’ve shared a 2021 recap that features some random moments of the year. Going back in my camera roll looking for pictures to include was like reliving all the good and bad moments that I experienced. It also gave me a chance to reflect on the current state of my life.
The last couple of months have been taxing on my mental health. This year I decided that I will just do things for myself. I’m not one for New Year’s Resolutions but this year I decided to give it a try.
In the first week of the year I have started to develop a routine that will allow me to stick to my goals. I’m not one to share my goals when it comes to doing new things but the couple of times I’ve mentioned new ideas, I’ve realized that some people just don’t get it. In the past, the opinions of others would deter me from trying new things but now I don’t care. I’m doing things for me. It is my solo adventure.
Wow! It definitely was not my intention to have Savir Blogs on the back burner. Real life definitely took over! So since I last posted I had a list of goals I wanted to accomplish, it’s only right that I update you on my process or lack thereof.
Savir Blogs: I updated my Newark collection. One of the pictures was used for my job’s Instagram page and it received good feedback. It also served as inspiration to other people so I thought that was cool. I still have beauty related content in mind, just not any hauls. I’m thinking maybe a makeup collection post or empty pan post.
Weight: I have not lost the 5 pounds that I wanted to lose. I did however improve my eating habits. I’ve been watching my portions and being mindful of how often I eat junk food. I find that I feel much better after meals. I haven’t started to work out and honestly I’m currently not motivated enough to begin.
Tattoos & Piercings: My goal was to have 3 new tattoos and a nose piercing by June. I accomplished this! I got 3 tattoos in one sitting. Some might think that’s a lot but the tattoos are on the smaller size of the spectrum. The pain was tolerable, even the one on my ankle. I also got my right nostril pierced. Although I did tear up when the needle went in, the pain was less than what I expected.
Vacation: In June I went to Las Vegas with my brother. It was extremely hot with over 100 degree weather but it was fun. Neither my brother or I are gamblers so we spent the majority of the time walking the strip, buying drinks, and shopping. I tried to plan a family trip to Houston but I was not prepared for all the accommodations I had to take into consideration! I haven’t decided when I’ll start planning that again.
Overall I’m not too disappointed with my goal update. I accomplished 2.5 out of the 4. Now that it’s the best time of the year, I think I’ll have time to focus on achieving the in progress goals.
Hi everyone! It has been a long time since I have posted. Life got in the way and I neglected this blog. Hopefully, this time around I can do better. My scheduling has improved so I now have time to do the things that I want. I figured I would make my first post back about my current goals.
Savir Blogs: Of course this blog would be first on the list. I have updated my Flowers collection so check it out! Coming up I have some beauty related content in mind. I placed an order for Sephora’s beauty sale that I want to tell you guys about and I have been wearing my natural nails so I decided to share my nail health progress as well.
Weight: I want to lose 5 pounds. Last year I was very focused and ended up losing 10 pounds. Unfortunately, I couldn’t keep the weight off because food is just too good! This time around I’m only interested in losing 5 pounds and I don’t have a set date by when I want this to happen. I’m taking my time by being conscious of what I’m eating but not making a big deal if I have junk food. I also have been slowly getting back to indoor cycling and walking to help me burn the calories at my pace.
Tattoos & Piercings: Yes, I am getting older in age but I do not have enough body art or piercings. My goal is to have 3 new tattoos and a nose piercing by June!
Vacation: I haven’t had a vacation in over a year. Once I get vaccinated I’ll feel comfortable traveling again. I cannot wait for this! Traveling does wonders for my mental health and not being able to travel last year really sucked!
Now that I have manifested my goals I’m ready to work to achieve what I want!
In honor of World Mental Health Day, I wanted to talk about the biggest thing that I have done to put my mental health first. For the past 4 years, the highest position in my department has been opened 3 times. All those times my colleagues tried to encourage me to go for the promotion. I would just tell them, “I’m not ready.” No one really understood my hesitation.
The truth is I fully understand the nature of the job. As the head of a department I would have to bear full responsibility for the good things and the bad things. The problem for me is that the money is not worth the stress associated with the job. People say that I should’ve gone for the job because my job is already stressful. What they don’t understand is that yes, at times I am stressed, but it doesn’t compare to the amount of stress I would have if I were head honcho.
I don’t consider this a failure because my role has expanded in other ways. I’ve been dabbling in marketing and the latest thing is event planning. These new responsibilities are things that I would never think I would ever be involved in. Anyone who knows me knows that I am not one for social media, yet somehow I’m involved with creating social media campaigns! I’m also learning about design and I’m involved in the editing process for videos, which also includes scripts.
I say all of this to say that I don’t regret choosing my mental health over money. I didn’t want to be that person who was successful yet unhappy. I took a different path and I hope to implement what I have learned with this blog!
I have never been a flower person but lately I find myself admiring the flowers that I see on my walks. Once I see a pretty flower I just want to take a picture of it. It’s the way a flower looks once it’s bloomed that does it for me. I don’t care if it delays me in my travels, I will take as many pictures as I need to until I get the one I like.
With the pictures that I end up keeping I try different edits on them to see what speaks to me. I experiment with different editing apps to get the best results. I admit I’m no photographer or professional photo editor. I just go by what I like.
Since the majority of the time I end up doing absolutely nothing with the photos, I decided to add some to Savir Blogs. If you click here you will find more pictures. Don’t forget to check back for updates.
